Below are some helpful resources I’ve found to help save more money AND increase income.

Saving & Investing:

Stash Invest – I love the Stash App. Truth be told this app was one of the catalysts that finally got my wife and I on the right track to changing our finances. Stash allows you to invest for as little as $5 in fractional shares of ETF’s and select stocks. This app is a great way to put your money to work, by saving what you’d normally spend, and investing it in a variety of profitable funds or individual companies. I’ve been using Stash for over 2 years and I’m making MUCH more through investing than what my money would have made simply by sitting in a traditional savings or checking account. I love Stash so much that I even signed up for a Roth IRA to supplement my retirement plan through my employer. Stash also has many other features that makes saving money virtually effortless. Sign up via this link and get a free $5 to start investing today.

Acorns – Very similar to Stash, you can also invest small amounts of money over time in a way that makes saving and investing almost effortless. The one thing that really sets Acorns apart is the fact that they round up spare change from your purchases via your debit card and then invests that spare change in $5 increments. Acorns also offers a Roth IRA to help you plan for your retirement. Sign up with Acorns via this link and each of us will get a free $5.

M1 – M1 is an app similar to Stash and Acorns WITHOUT THE FEES! M1 allows you to invest in fractional shares of a variety of funds and companies. The pie charts from M1 also make adjusting and balancing your portfolio super easy.

Shopping & Cash Back

Dosh – Dosh is a neat app that gives you discounts or cash-back simply for shopping with certain retailers either online or in-store. You also get bonuses for connecting additional cards or referring friends. I’ve had some good luck with referring friends, and mainly use Dosh for the gas discounts. I’ve been able to cash out at the $25 threshold several times. If you are a frequent shopper (which I’m not) you’ll get even more benefit from this app than I do.

Online Surveys

Inbox Dollars – With Inbox Dollars you can make a few extra dollars by filling out online surveys, watching videos, and even by shopping online. Reaching the $30 cash-out is a bit of a challenge and definitely requires patience, but you do get paid real money. Since signing up I’ve been able to make close to $150 simply by watching videos and completing 1-2 surveys a day.

Survey Junkie – I love Survey Junkie. I make at least $20/week taking surveys that are easy and fun to do. The $10 cash-out is also very attainable, so there is no reason you can’t make an extra $10 every couple of days. Granted you wont get rich with Survey Junkie, but it is a cool way to earn a few extra bucks with very little effort.

Swagbucks – It took me a while to warm up to Swagbucks because I tried it years ago with very little to show for it. Recently I decided to give it another shot and have been thrilled with the results. In just over 2 weeks I’ve already made $35 filling out surveys, watching videos, playing trivia, and even bowling!
